A Message From Superintendent Dr. Debra Taylor Fall is a time of celebration as we welcome our students back to school. The opening of school brings new challenges and a sense of excitement to every member of the educational family in Lamoille North Supervisory Union. It is a time of optimism, high energy, and commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of each child that we had the responsibility to nurture, educate, and support. I know no better way to improve the future than by opening doors of opportunity for our young people. Schools in Lamoille North Supervisory Union, and all over the nation, are being challenged to identify strategies and programs that allow all children to achieve to higher standards. Over the past several months our School Board members and staff have been working hard to set goals in response to these demands. We have based our goals on the 21st Century Skills, research based curriculum plans, and instructional methodology. Preparing our students for the future requires that we provide them with opportunities to become academically capable, creative, and thoughtful young citizens. To this end, we have established a long term plan which is comprised of three primary goals. Each school will establish action plans which align with these goals. 1. Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction Create a system of PK-12 curriculum, instruction, assessment combined with measurable ends or targets. 2. Student Achievement Increase student achievement for all students, as well as across all subgroups. 3. Resource Management Obtain and manage resources to maximize the return on investment as measurable through student success. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all of our staff and to the members of our communities for their support of our schools. Now the excitement of the new school year is upon us, offering endless possibilities. Together we can make our school system even greater. It is an honor and a privilege to serve you and our communities as Superintendent of Schools in Lamoille North Supervisory Union. I look forward to working with you this year as we continue our journey together. Yours in Education, Debra J. Taylor, Ph.D. (802) 851-1178
